Lesser Kudu

 
  • Appearance: Males and females both have 11-14 stripes, cheek spots, and a stripe between the eyes, crossing the bridge of their nose called a “chevron.” Males have straight twisting horns that grow 2-3 feet and have two spirals. Females don’t have any horns.

  • Size: individuals are 3 - 3.5 feet at the shoulder

  • Weight: up to 200 pounds

  • Conservation Status: Near threatened and declining
